the poems of tang and song dynasty
bridging ancient wisdom with modern cartography, i spearheaded the chinese poetry atlas – an innovative educational product that reimagines how children experience classical chinese poetry. by mapping nearly 200 poems from over 70 poets across historical landscapes, i created a unique learning tool that blends traditional chinese landscape painting styles with contemporary statistical mapping techniques.
the atlas features distinctive elements like yan zhenqing's calligraphy for tang poetry and authentic song dynasty printing scripts, making ancient verses geographically tangible for young learners. this fresh approach to cultural education has not only resonated widely, surpassing 1,000,000 copies in sales , but also earned international recognition through its selection for the 31st international cartographic conference (ICC) exhibition gallery, hosted by the international cartographic association (ICA) in 2023.

transforming complex geographical data into engaging visual stories, i created "geographic insights hidden in atlas" (藏在地圖里的國家地理・中國), an innovative children's book that unveils china's diverse geographic tapestry. through meticulous analysis of geodata, i designed and developed over 30 distinctive data visualization infographics, bringing to life everything from natural landscapes and ecological systems to ambitious engineering projects and emerging smart cities.
this approach to geographic storytelling has proven highly effective in making complex spatial concepts accessible to young minds, with the book achieving remarkable success in the educational market, selling more than 100,000 copies.

epidemic zoonotic diseases: a data visualization handbook
at the height of the covid-19 pandemic, our team embarked on a project to demystify the origins and spread of zoonotic diseases—illnesses transmitted from animals to humans. we created a dynamic data visualization and developed a handbook that dives deep into the science of epidemic zoonoses, drawing insights from 14 representative diseases.
through infographics and statistics, we illustrated the global distribution, pathogen characteristics, infection pathways, and the profiles of the most susceptible populations. our goal was clear: to tell the story of how interconnected our world truly is, highlighting that the health of humans and animals is inseparable.

「chinese national geography」 mooks
in those collaborative mooks, scenery and folklore in china and how geography influences chinese customs, i designed detailed maps of over 10 cities and regions across china. each map highlights unique geographic and cultural elements, from the intricate water gardens of suzhou to the evolving landscape of the greater bay area and the historic great wall in beijing’s miyun district.
this project involved distilling complex regional details into visually engaging, accurate maps that guide readers through the diverse landscapes that shape china’s customs and traditions.
